Six stocks rose in value and four stocks fell in value.

The total portfolio* rose +16.9%.

• PulteGroup (PHM) rose the most at +80.9%. 

• Broadcom Ltd. (AVGO) rose +49.3%.

• Legg Mason (LM) rose +40.4%.

• Hartford Financial Services Group (HIG) rose +18.1%.

• BP plc (BP) rose +12.4%.

• Total SA (TOT) rose +8.5%.

• XL Group Ltd. (XL) fell -5.6%.

• Whirlpool (WHR) fell -7.2%.

• Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) fell -12.2%.

• Mattel (MAT) fell the most at -44.2%.

*Results assume equal dollar amounts purchased in each stock, rounded off to full shares, using the closing share prices on December 30, 2016. Accumulated dividends are factored into total portfolio performance, but not factored into individual stock performance as listed above.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose +25.1% from 19,762.60 to 24,719.22, from December 30, 2016 through December 29, 2017.
