Model Portfolio Results — Dec. 23, 2011 through March 9, 2012

This week’s portfolio results begin to show the power of dividends for the growth & income investor.  For the first time since inception, the growth & income portfolio is outpacing the Dow Jones Industrial Average’s performance.  I attribute that more towards the accumulating dividends than towards individual stock performance.

Both the aggressive growth and growth portfolios are outpacing the S&P 500 index, with the growth portfolio growing 89% more than the S&P 500 during the same time period.

There are a variety of stocks in these portfolios which continue to be attractive at current prices based on valuation, projected earnings growth, and charts.  I would buy Schlumberger (SLB) under $76 and CBS Corp. (CBS) right away, based on a pending price breakout.  (I purchased CBS stock for myself today at $30.82.)
