Q: Regarding Precision Castparts, do you think the charts gave a clue as to today’s big jump? (08-10-15)

A: Shares of Precision Castparts Corp. (PCP) jumped today due to the $235 per share buyout offer from Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.A). A buyout cannot be foreseen in chart activity. The PCP chart was definitely bearish, prior to the M&A announcement.
